My vocation is programming, chiefly websites but also standalone applications using various technologies such as CFML (ColdFusion, Railo) combined with XML, HTML and CSS. The Developer’s Tidbit is designed to publish the occasional random observations of developer solutions and software troubleshooting I encounter during my working and leisure hours with Windows and Linux.
Afterhours I maintain the hobby website Defacto2. An online archive dedicated to the preservation and curation of the underground, computer arts and trading scene of the PC from golden era of the 1980s to the new millennium. In my younger days I was a keen PC gamer and nostalgia has conjured up my interest in the wonderful DOS emulation application, DOSBox.
These days though I am more of a devoted, amateur photographer than a gamer. Thanks to my trusty Canon EOS-400d and Google Picasa online I can attempt to document my various adventures from around the world when the opportunity arises.
Ben Garrett.
